Resuscitation for Medical Disciplines or RMD is a University of Birmingham Medicine module that has been running since 1995.
In this year, three medical students had the idea of introducing a peer-led course teaching the basic life support skills. This was the first of its kind and has grown from strength to strength.
Today the course is taught to students in their first year from the Medical, Dentistry and Physiotherapy disciplines. The course is taught by second year health students and since 2006 RMD has expanded to allow clinical year students to examine. |
