Everyone in the 1st year of Medicine, Graduate Entry, Physiotherapy and Dental students must complete the course which lasts over 4 weeks and includes a practical exam in which students must demonstrate:

How to perform Basic Life Support

How to use Automated External Defibrillators
|

3)

How to put someone in the Recovery Position
|
|
4)
|
How to deal with someone who is: Choking, Bleeding or in Shock
|
Each year is divided into 4 groups and you will be emailed which course you are to attend. Course 3 begins on Monday 14th January 2008. If you are allocated to this course please arrive for teaching promptly in LT3 where you will be given your teaching rooms.

The course not only teaches Basic Life Support but is also has an active research arm. We may ask you if you would like to be involved in one of our projects!
